Part 1 It was the blackest night anyone had ever seen. The only light in the room was a small beam, coming from the flashlight Trunks held in his right hand. He held a picture in the other. The picture was of Marron, his girlfriend. But, not anymore. She had dumped him two weeks ago and she hadn't seen him since. He loved her more than anything in the world, and would give up his house just to be with her. In the picture Trunks was lifting Marron up and she was squealing with delight. At the time, she had been head over heels for him. He was in so much pain. Marron had always loved him and he had always loved her. They had been friends since childhood and she confessed her love for him the same day he confessed his for her. They had been the best couple, going on four years. His heart had a plague that could only be cured by her. He decided to call his best friend Goten. He picked up the phone and dialed the number he knew so well. He hadn't called tonight; at least that's what Trunks thought. "Yes Trunks?" Goten answered sleepily. "How did you know it was me?" "You've called my house thirty-four times tonight. Have you forgotten already? I told you to stop calling fourteen calls ago." "Oh man. I'm so sick over her. She's the one. My soul mate! How could she fall for someone else so easily?" He whined. "Trunks, she's more like a sister to you!" "Bra is my sister and no one could replace her. Marron was meant to be my girlfriend and I've got to make her see that." "That's nice Trunks. Now go back to bed." "Bye." "Bye." But Trunks didn't take his suggestion. He looked at the picture, his heart already broken, felt rejected, and abandoned. He decided to call Goten. Trunks was going through a very hard time and couldn't even recall the last few minutes. He loved her so much. Why couldn't she see that? Son House, Goten's Room "Gosh, next time he calls I am disconnecting that stupid phone. I have to go to work early tomorrow too!" Goten told himself. The phone rang. "Yes Trunks?" He answered. No one replied. "Yes Trunks?" Silence. "No, It's me, Bra." Bra was Goten's girlfriend and Trunks's little sister. They'd gone through the exact same dilemma Trunks was facing. Goten had loved another girl. They finally got over it, and would be getting engaged, but not just yet. They were both in their early twenties and were still committed to college during the school year, as were Trunks and Marron. "Bra?" "Well, I figured you'd be awake since Marron still hasn't gotten together with Trunks. He needs to imagine him and her together again, and be happy." "That won't happen." "Well . . ." "Why don't you give your advice to him?" Goten offered. "I guess, but he might feel uncomfortable getting good advice from his little sis." Goten smirked, but Bra didn't see of course. The phone beeped. "Hey Bra? Trunks is calling me again. Why don't you go and give him the advice?" "Okay. I love you." "I love you too." "Bye." "Bye." He went to the other line. Brief's House, Trunks' room He dialed the number again. "Yes Trunks?" "Who were you talking to?" "Bra." "What did she want?" "To talk to me and give me a suggestion." "A suggestion on what?" The door opened and Bra walked into his room. "On giving you some advice." Bra told him. "Alright, since you two are going to talk I'm going to bed, after I disconnect my phone." "Bye," Trunks said confused. "Bye." "Advice?" "Yes. Me and Goten went through the same thing with Celia." "And your advice is?" Trunks asked impatiently. She walked over to the bed and sat down, tossing her thoughts around. "Start picturing you and her together again. When your around her and ummmm . . . Keunai? Is that his name?" "Yea." Keunai was Marron's new boyfriend. "When Keunai's not around and you and her are, treat her like a princess. Act like you and her are flirting as much as the first time you met. Then, after you get her looking at you differently, tell her what you think of what she's doing to you. I'll ask to borrow a shirt or something and you put something like a small . . . possession in it and when she finds it she knows it's yours. She'll think of you that way." He didn't say anything. "Well? What do you think of my advice?" "I didn't know sisters gave it so good." She smiled. "I'm going to bed now." She got up and walked to the door. "You should leave Goten alone and get some sleep too." "Wait," He got up and walked to the door, stopping her. He kissed her on the forehead. "Good night Bra." He told her. "Good night Trunks."
