Part 3 Son's House, Gohan's room . . . "No! No! No! No! NO!" Gohan yelled at Goten. "Please!?" "No! You know it's my favorite game." Gohan told Goten. Goten wanted to borrow his Playstation 2 game so badly. Him and Bra were going to Marron's house to play it and he assured them he would get it. "But I told them I would get it!" He pleaded. "Then you made a mistake." "I'm not leaving this room until I get it." Goten told him. "If I give it to you . . . you have to give me something of yours to hold until you bring it back and that I get to keep it if it breaks." Gohan replied. Goten ran into his room, grabbing his favorite shirt. "My favorite shirt." Goten offered. "Nope." "He ran back into his room with the shirt. "My lava lamp?" "Nope." "My CD player?" "Nope." "My favorite CD?" "Nope." "Any of my CD's?" "Nope." "Then what?" "You know, give it up." "Alright, but as soon as I get back with the game it's mine!" He pulled a necklace out of his shirt. It was Gohan's old necklace, which he had given away so foolishly. He had never taken it off after his father had given it to him. It had three simple charms. The first was a karate warrior doing a side blade kick. The second was their grandfather's wedding ring. The third was a tiny medallion with ancient writing on it. It was from the planet Namek, which since their dad had found it, had been destroyed. Their friend Piccolo was from Namek and told them only a Saiyan could wear it and it brought good luck. He told them what it said in Namekian: Wearer Beware, Only a Saiyan can wear this charm, It brings good luck and leaves no harm. It was Goten's favorite item in the world and it had been Gohan's before his. Now he would give it up for the game. Goten on the way to Marron's . . . I better not lose this game or I won't get my necklace back, Goten thought. It was only a stroke of luck that he'd gotten it though. When Gohan was seven and figured out "Mommy's gonna have me a little brother," he wanted to give his new brother a special welcome, so he decided to give up his favorite thing, the necklace. Gohan wanted it back, after they had had a fight. Goten and Gohan both went Super and almost wrecked the house. They ended up playing rock, paper, scissors for it, although Gohan had given it to him and his parents were giving it back to Goten, Goten won. Goten snapped out of his daydream and saw Bra not to far ahead of him. "Bra! Bra! Braaaaaa!" She finally heard him and turned around. She waited for him to catch up. They kissed. "Hey," Bra said. "Hey." "How have you been?" Bra asked. "Good and you?" "Same old, same old." "What about Trunks? How's he been?" "Do you really want to know the answer to that question?" "Yes! He's my best friend!" "He's been sick for over a week and he stopped getting out of bed three days ago. He keeps telling mum 'No soup!' and he keeps telling me how much he wants to die. Dad keeps giving him liquor and tells mum it's good for his stomach problems. He doesn't have any stomach problems! So Trunks is raving about this and that and things I am to young to know about. He's going die without her. Why don't you come and visit. He's awful lonely without her." She stopped her conversation when they got closer to Marron's, but not close enough. "Who's lonely?" "No one." "I heard you talking about someone being lonely." "You heard wrong, I didn't say anything! Isn't that right Goten?" "Yes. Bra never would tell a lie." Marron eyed them suspiciously. "Bring the game?" She asked. Goten pulled it out of his pocket and they ran inside. Hallelujah! Keunai wasn't around. They sat there and played the game for hours on end. Laughing and joking around was natural for them. Marron felt something missing. The only thing that was, was Trunks. It was usually the four of them. She realized it was Friday night. That's when the four usually got together. Finally, when Bra had to go, Goten decided to go too. Marron hugged them each, and waved goodbye along with her parents. On the way to Bra's House . . . Goten had decided to go visit Trunks. Trunks and him hadn't talked for several days now, and Goten was a bit worried. When they arrived Goten said hello to Bulma and followed Bra upstairs. Vegeta had just walked out of the room carrying an empty liquor bottle "His stomach medicine." Vegeta said. Bra rolled her eyes and walked in. Trunks was so drunk, he was raving about the time he sucked a chocolate chip up his nose. Goten was sorry for him but he was also disgusted. Six Weeks Later at Brief's resident's, family room (Trunk's is a bit better by now)... "Give it up Bra!" "No way! My shows on! I want to watch it and I was here first!" "But there's a special on tonight! I want to watch it!" "Go watch your TV!" Bra shouted. Bra knew Vegeta was sleeping in his room and Bulma was watching her mushy soap opera on hers. She wouldn't give it up either. "Let go!" They both wanted to watch TV and were fighting over the clicker. Being stupid Trunks went Super Saiyan and Bra, just learning to do it, followed him. Bra grabbed the remote and started flying in circle around the room while Trunks was next to her trying to grab it out of her hands. Bra mostly just dodged his hands and flew a different way. From upstairs Bulma yelled, "Did you invite the zoo over for lunch or what?" She came downstairs. In a couple of minutes the family room looked like a tornado had whipped through it. "My house!" Bulma screamed, throwing her hands up. The couch was knocked over and so was the lamp. The TV stand was now missing a wheel and was about to buckle without it. The rug was on top of the couch in a heap. Picture frames were scattered throughout the room and the coffee table was on its side. The recliner was leaning against the coffee table and the candy dish had no candy remaining; maybe it could borrow the candy that was strewn all over the floor. The clicker was in three pieces on the floor in front of Bulma's feet. Luckily, nothing was broken, although there would be some bone snapping if the mess wasn't cleaned up soon. "Clean it up NOW!" She barked, just as the TV started to slip off the TV stand. Trunks flew over and picked it up, putting it on the floor. Vegeta had walked in and thought to himself, 'Now I remember why I married that woman'. Bra put the rug back in it's spot. Trunks picked up the missing wheel, which was in the kitchen, on the other side of the house, and secured it to the bottom of the TV stand. He replaced the TV. Bra was busily picking up the frames that held all those long ago memories, and putting them back in order on the coffee table Trunks had just put the recliner back in place. The couch and the lamp had been put back in their normal positions, and Bra had just put all the candy back in the candy dish and then returned it to it's proper place. Trunks put the couch back. They were done before Bulma had finished clicking the remote back into one piece. "Twenty seconds." Vegeta said. "Really?" Bra wondered. "I'm disappointed in you Trunks, you could've done that by yourself in three seconds!" Vegeta told him. Trunks and Bra's hair had just returned to their normal state and their skin was no longer glowing gold.
