Part 9 Keunai and Marron at the resort the next day . . . Since there was only one bed Marron was forced to sleep with Keunai even though she completely dreaded it. It was that or the floor. So she slept as far right of him as humanly possible without falling off the bed. She was awake the entire night just to make sure he didn't make any unsuspecting moves on her. She was quite sure he would too. They were together the entire day. She started to enjoy him more because she knew she'd be free from the chains of a relationship for awhile. He was quite charming when he wanted to be. She could fall in love with him if he stayed as charming as he was as they walked along the beach. "You're pretty calm today." She told him. "Yea." "Why?" "I'm thinking about the girl I love." He winked at her. She giggled but then she realized it might be the last walk on the beach she ever had with him. They walked and walked and walk. Finally, they turned around and walked all the way back to the resort. Marron was willing to bet they walked two miles, round trip. Bra . . . Bra was on the couch in the living room. She was rolling her eyes at the soap opera her mom always watched. It was so corny. Trunks had just left to go see Goten at the mall to discuss their 'issues'. The phone rang. Bra was starting to think that her house was being transferred to the Sprint Company behind her back. "Hello?" "Ummm, hello this is Tony. Is Trunks home?" "No, he's not. He went out about ten minutes ago." "Who's this?" "This is Bra." "Who?" "His sister." "Trunks has a sister?" "Yes, he obviously does." "How old are you hun?" "Excuse you! I'm twenty-four." "Oh, I thought you were like seven. Your voice must be so different in person." "No, not really. I mean I never thought about it." "Maybe you want to come to my party, you know if Trunks can't." "Sure. I mean I'd have to know your address but I'm ready for some kicking back." "Great. And one more thing." "Hmmm?" "Tell Trunks about the party." "Ya." "Can you fly?" He asked out of nowhere. "Yes. Why?" "I just think it's cool." "Okay whatever." "When is the party anyways?" "It's tonight at eight." "Oh," She said in surprise. She thought it was like Friday or something. Duh! She told herself. "Well, I have to go." "See you tonight, I guess." "Okay." "Bye." "Bye." She went upstairs to pick something out to wear. Maybe Trunks had his beeper or moms cell phone. She tried calling. He always kept mom's cell phone in his jacket. He didn't answer but Bulma did. "Hello?" "Mom?" "Yes?" "I was trying to call Trunks." "I took the cell phone away from him." "I can see that." "Bye." "Bye." By the way, Bulma was downstairs. She tried to beep him. She'd wait for a call. She picked out a silky black skirt that touched a little above her knees. The slits in the side went up a little higher. She chose a red low-cut shirt with no sleeves. For shoes she tried on her cute black ones. They were high heeled in the back but square and it came down to rounded front. She'd style her hair very little and she'd be ready, but it was four o'clock. Trunks called and Bra told him the scoop but he didn't want to go. He told her it was a crisis and he would tell her the details when he got home. Bra fell asleep on Trunks bed since her clothes were laid out on hers. Marron . . . Marron was sitting on the beach with her feet where the water could rush up and down over them. Keunai was nowhere to be seen. She didn't want to see him. She fell asleep. The water was comforting to her as well as many of the other people on the beach. She slept until noon. She went in the pool and did various activities. I think if Marron wanted such a private part of her life revealed I would've shared these activities. "Marron? Are you awake?" She opened her eyes and found herself on the beach again. She remembered coming down to the water again. Keunai was next to her. She wanted to slap him for interrupting such a wonderful dream. It was about her being an angel. She was the head of all the angels and they did whatever she commanded them to. No one would ever rebel against the Queen of the Angels. She had magnificent powers and it was lovely. But he had ruined it and there was nothing to get her back to La La Land. She realized it was about five or six o'clock so they went for another walk. They walked and walked like they had done the day before. Marron sensed something strange from him though. Something he had never showed before. His kindness. He had really never revealed how nice he was to her. If she had only realized this sooner. Now, she had her hopes up that Trunks would ask her out in a few months. First, she wanted to be free. With no relationship that could be a possibility. After she'd been free and longed for a relationship again then was the time she'd choose between Trunks and Keunai. She wasn't quite sure exactly how he would take it, but she knew if he loved her back that he'd've been just a little nicer to her. She had the feeling she wouldn't quite break his heart. Bra's house at seven-thirty . . . Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. Bra's alarm clock woke her up. Actually, Trunks alarm clock did. She had crashed in Trunks's room. She ran to take a shower. She put on her clothes for the party and did her hair. It only took her twenty minutes. She put on her shoes and she would have to fly to the party. She realized she had a dress on and told herself not to fly to fast. She told her mom she was going out and went on her way. She got there at eight thirteen. She rang the doorbell of the house. It was a large Victorian style house in the shade of a pale yellow. A boy answered the door and she knew by his voice it wasn't Tony. "Yikes! I died and went to chick heaven! Would you like me to escort you to Tony?" She rolled her eyes. He was just being nice so she accepted. "Yes, please." They started to walk. "What's your name?" "Bra." "Tony, Bra has arrived." He said when they came to Tony. "A fair jewel indeed." He said. She rolled her eyes. These boys must be desperate or something! "Would you like to dance?" Tony asked. "Sure." Tony was an awesome dancer. He impressed her when he did. At the end of the song she clapped for him while laughing as he did the disco. Two guys tried to make a move on her. She let the third guy do his stuff. His name was Ethan. He thought he had her enticed. They went for a walk as he told her amazing stories. Ethan was about to ask her something but she cut him off. "I have a boyfriend. We can be friends though. Here, you can have my phone number if you like. We can talk sometime. It's 555-3921." "I already have it. You're Trunks's sister." He smiled. She smiled too. Marron . . .. That evening they went to the bar in the resort and played pool with some locals. Marron lost. She wasn't any good at pool. Keunai showed her how, putting his arms around her to teach her how to hold it. After his instructions she won. She won ten bucks that the others had bet against her. She knew what she had to do before they left tomorrow but she knew it might be hard. Trunks . . . Trunks and Goten were at a local café staring into space, worried for Bra. "She'll be fine." Trunks reassured Goten. "Then eat your pizza!" He said to him. Trunks looked down at it. It looked so unappetizing. "No. I want you to stop judging me by what I eat!" "Well . . . It's so easy to tell what you're thinking that way." Trunks gave him a dirty look. "I'm going to go home and see what's going on." "Okay. Bye." "Bye." Trunks walked outside and took off. All the people that had seen Trunks take off stared at Goten. He was so frustrated. He ran outside from the stares and took off after Trunks. The people in the café glanced around at each other. Four guys all said "Naaaaaaaaa," as if had never happened at all. Marron . . . Marron went to bed early that night so she wouldn't notice Keunai when he got in bed later on. She was fast asleep when he got in and had a good night's rest. Bra . . . Bra got home at twelve o'clock as Trunks was opening the door to go inside. He turned around. "How was the party?" "I had to leave early." "Why?" "Because four or five guys tried to date me. I am going out with Goten and no one will change that. I worked hard for our relationship and I won't just throw it away." He rolled his eyes. She ran past Trunks and upstairs to her room. He didn't want to bother her so he went right to his. He sprawled onto his bed. "I thought I made my bed before I left." He wondered aloud. Bra hadn't told him she'd slept on his bed. She didn't feel guilty cause she didn't know he'd even discovered it. Trunks fell asleep immediately in his clothes. She fell asleep on her bed in her pajamas an hour later. In the morning . . . "Goten, I love you!" "I don't." Goten turned away. "I though our relationship would go farther." She pleaded. "You thought wrong!" Goten went over to Marron and French kissed her. Bra sat up in her bed. Sweat covered her face. She picked up the phone. Was it just a dream? "Hello?" Marron answered. "Are you going out with Goten?" "No! Where would you ever get an idea like that?" But she was speaking to the dial tone. At the resort a few hours later . . . "All your things packed?" "Yes." "Your hair brushes and your make-up?" "Yes." "You're bathing suit and clothes." "Yes! Everything is packed and ready to go." "Alright let's head down to the elevator." Keunai grabbed his things and walked to the elevator. Marron trailed behind with her large load. After he got his things safely into the elevator he went back to help her. She locked the door and boarded with him. Halfway between floors two and three the elevator stopped. Marron knew something bad was going to happen. There were a number of people on the elevator with her. "How olds your baby?" Marron nodded towards the child in the father's arms. "Four weeks." The mother said proudly. "What's her name?" "Well . . ." the mother looked at the father and she turned back. "No name really suits her beauty and all of the regular names like Anne and Heather are just to . . .ordinary for her." She later introduced herself as Shelby Carlson and her husband Dave. They sat down and Marron introduced herself. "I'm Marron." "What?" "I'm Marron." "What a beautiful name!" "Well, my mom made it up on her own and-" "I love it!" She turned to Dave and he nodded as if he didn't care anymore. "So, are you going to name her Marron, after me?" "Marron Rose. That's perfect!" She forgot Marron had just met her but she hugged her anyways. She turned to the little baby and shook her head as she spoke. "You like your name? Marron Rose?" The baby giggled as if she knew what was going on. After a while of Keunai screaming into the emergency phone, Shelby and her got into a conversation. It was as if she was her godmother or something. Just as they'd got to talking, the elevator jolted downwards and they all got off on the second floor. They walked down to the lobby through the stairwell with all their luggage. In the lobby they were each going to separate ways so Shelby waved goodbye. "Okay then. We'll see you." "Marron!" Keunai called. Marron looked up from picking up her baggage. He walked over to her. She stretched out her hands and put them in his. "Keunai, I don't know how to say this." "Neither do I." Marron looked at him, confused. "I don't love you." They said together.
