A DragonBall Christmas Tale 3: Matchmaker Bra was the last person to actually get out of bed that day (Goku stayed in bed all day). Downstairs, in the kitchen, she saw ChiChi and Videl trying to make breakfast as quickly as possible to satisfy the hungry Saiyans. Bra walked over to her family. "Morning, Daddy," she greeted, placing a kiss on Vegeta’s cheek. He grunted and continued eating. Trunks did the same thing. Bra took the seat between Goten and Trunks. "Don’t I get a kiss?" asked Goten, playfully. "Not unless you marry her," laughed Bulma. Vegeta stopped eating long enough to frown, and Bra laughed nervously. Bra looked at Pan. She seemed really sad. Bra stood, grabbed a piece of toast and walked over to her friend. "Hey Pan, what’s up?" "Oh, nothing." Pan sighed and looked at Trunks and Goten, who were fighting over a piece of bacon. Bra frowned. "Talk to me later." She went back to her spot, and stole the afore mentioned piece if bacon. Trunks and Goten stared at her, mouths open. "Bra! I was gonna eat that!" "No way, Trunks. It had ‘Goten’ written all over it." Bra shrugged. "You snooze, you loose." * * * * * * Later, Yamcha, Tien, Chao-zu and Krillin went to find a Christmas tree. Vegeta refused to go, claiming that, "I wouldn’t be seen dead with such weak beings." Bra had spoken with Pan, and found out what had happened earlier. Bra was sympathetic, until Pan admitted she had told Goten how Bra felt about him. "YOU DID WHAT!?!" she exclaimed. "You bitch! I’ll kill you!" Bra’s outburst achieved the impossible: Pan cracked up and wouldn’t stop laughing. Goten and Trunks came into the girls’ room to see what was going on. "What’s so funny?" asked Goten. "Oh, nothing, Goten-san!" Pan snickered. Bra threw a pillow at her. "Pan’s just being immature!" replied Bra, curtly. Trunks shrugged. "We just don’t understand girls." * * * * * * It was late afternoon before the tree hunters returned. Apparently, Krillin hadn’t wanted a tree taller than him, and it took the others ages to convince him otherwise. Then, Chao-zu had been surprisingly protective of several trees. The problem had finally been solved by Yamcha, who went to the closest tree, and knocked it down before anyone could object. Tien dropped the tree in the middle of the living room. Yamcha then held up his second prize – a bunch of mistletoe. He proceeded to hang it everywhere. Marron walked into the room, her arms filled with decorations. Pan and Bra ran to help her. Eventually, the entire gang was decorating the tree, except for Goku, who was still in bed, Piccolo, who was meditating, and Vegeta, who was ‘sulking’ in a corner. The was a definite advantage in having the Z-warriors help. They could fly up to the higher branches on the tree. #18 flew up and placed the final decoration – the star- on the top of the tree. "Alright, Chao-zu," called Master Roshi, "flick the switch." With a "click", the whole room lit up with the tree. Everyone, "ooohed" and "ahhhed". "Well, that was fun," said Gohan. He collapsed in a chair. "Who ever thought decorating a tree could be so exhausting?" Videl laughed, and massaged his shoulders. "Aww, Mum, Dad," complained Pan, "Cut it out!" "Pucker up, Pan!" said Chao-zu. "You’re under some mistletoe." Pan screamed, and ran away from the little clown, but secretly, she hoped to catch Trunks under the mistletoe some time soon. * * * * * * "B-chan, wait up!" Bra froze half-way up the stairs as she heard Goten call. She turned around and smiled sweetly. "Can I talk to you?" he asked, giving her the same look she had given him the day before. "Sure, Goten-san. What’s up?" Bra cheerfully said. Please don’t be about what Pan said. Please don’t be about what Pan said. Please! "I was talking to Pan this morning, and….." Damn! "Yeah, she told me." "Oh, well, I’m worried about her. She got so upset." "Really? What about?" Phew. "I think she has a thing for Trunks." He smiled sadly. "She said she told you about it." Bra smiled too. She remembered Pan admitting her feelings for Trunks several months ago. "Yes, she did, but that was ages ago." "Wow, really?" Bra nodded. "She didn’t tell me that. You two sure are good at keeping secrets." Goten laughed. "We should set them up. They’d make a perfect couple, don’t ya think?" "Great idea. I’ll go talk to Trunks. He’s in your room." She continued up the stairs. "Oh, and B-chan?" Bra turned back around. "Is there anything else you’d like to tell me? Any other secrets?" "N-no. Why?" "Just wondering. See ya!" He ran back down the stairs. Bra leaned against the hand rail and let out a relieved breath. * * * * * * "Hey, Big Brother," Bra greeted, as she walked into Trunks and Goten’s room. Trunks was lying on his bed. Bra hoisted herself onto Goten’s bunk so she would be at the same height as her brother. She smiled briefly at an immature thought. "Hi, sis." Trunks said. "Whaddya want?" "Oh, nice. I just wanted to talk to my older brother!" "Now I know you want something. What is it?" Bra scowled at Trunks. "I swear I don’t want anything. I just wanna talk." "Fine. So talk already." Trunks rolled over. "What do you think of Pan?" "Well, she’s my friend. She’s funny, kind….." "Pretty?" "Yeah, I guess. Where’s all this leading?" "Oh, nowhere. So you think she’d funny, kind and pretty. Would you seriously consider her as a girlfriend?" "What!?! Bra, she’s nine years younger than me!" "So!?!" Bra did not mean to be so defensive. "Does age really mean anything?" Trunks thought for a moment. "No, not really. I guess you’re right. Still, Pan and I are friends. I don’t want to ruin that, and I’m sure she feels the same way." I’ll have to settle for that. "Okay, Trunks, whatever you reckon. Just give it some thought, alright?" Bra jumped off the bed and left the room, leaving Trunks staring, dumbfounded, after her.
